How We Raise Our Puppies
We have a loyal following for our puppies because we raise them underfoot in our home and take great care in breeding for good health and temperaments in addition to beauty.
Our Aussies are known for a combination of beauty, good health and unusually calm, sweet, smart temperaments. We hand select the puppies we keep, show and then breed for the combination of qualities our family wants in a dog for ourselves. We start with breeding lines with proven long-term health and good temperaments. Our grown dogs and puppies are fed premium raw foods and supplements to ensure lifelong good health. The puppies are hand raised in our home to give them maximum socialization before they leave us to go to their new permanent families. Veterinarians love our puppies because we teach them from the start to be handled without fear and not to bite humans.
In addition to our many years of experience handling and playing with puppies in ways that build their confidence with being handled by people, we also use two formal training protocols: The Early Neurological Stimulation program and the Puppy Culture Program. In addition, we are always open to trying improved training methods we learn of from the other show breeders and handlers we work with. All our puppies, including our own show dogs, are raised as family pets in our home. This is why we have a reputation for having sweet tempered, loyal dogs who are eager to please their people.
We raise our puppies in exceptionally clean conditions. That way the puppies are used to being clean, which makes them easy to housebreak as they do not want to soil their living space. In addition, by being kept parasite free, they are able to build their immune systems for long term good health without the drain on their immune systems parasites cause. All our parent dogs (including the outside stud dogs we breed our girls to) are screened to be free of hip dysplasia (OFA rated Good or Excellent), have their eyes cleared annually by a veterinary ophthalmologist and are genetically tested to be free of certain health problems. All our dogs are dual registered with AKC (American Kennel Club) and ASCA (the Australian Shepherd Club of America).
All our puppies are given up to date vaccinations, individual eye and health exams and are dewormed regularly with all natural products up to the time they leave us. We guarantee the health of our puppies pursuant to a no breeding allowed sales contract.
